Auditions: Come From Away

Auditions are being held for *Come From Away*, Colonial Players of Annapolis’s spring musical, directed by Darice Clewell. The production tells the story of 38 planes grounded in the aftermath of an emergency and the small town that welcomes the stranded travelers. Twelve actors are sought, and all roles are open.

Actors will audition in small, pre-registered sessions and should prepare a song, read from the source material in multiple accents, and bring required audition materials. The production will be staged in the round.

When: Sunday, November 15, and Monday, November 16

Showtimes: Sunday sessions at 1:00 and 2:45 p.m.; Monday sessions at 7:00 and 8:45 p.m.

Audition Venue: Colonial Players Annex

Callbacks: Wednesday, November 18, by invitation only

Registration: Pre-registration is required. Each session is limited to 10 people, and walk-ins will be admitted only if a space becomes available. Arrive 10–15 minutes before the scheduled session.

Preparation: Bring 16–32 bars of a song that demonstrates your vocal range. The song must not be from *Come From Away*. Printed, marked sheet music is required; an accompanist will be provided, but tablets and a cappella singing are not permitted.

Reading: Auditioners will read from the source material using at least two accents, including Newfinese, or Newfoundland English. Perfect execution is not required.

Materials: Bring a completed Actor Audition Form, a résumé or list of experience, and a headshot. A headshot can also be taken at sign-in.

Availability: Be prepared to provide conflicts covering November 18 through March 27.

Performers: Twelve actors are sought, with all roles open.
