Arts on Stage Presents...Story of Dia de Muertos
Arts on Stage presents *Story of Día de Muertos*, a colorful educational performance by Calpulli Mexican Dance Company. Through theatrical dance, movement, and music in *Time of the Marigold*, the production traces Día de Muertos from its Mesoamerican origins to its modern expressions. Audiences encounter figures such as La Catrina and learn about marigolds, ofrendas, and other traditions that honor the connection between the living and those who have died.
Designed for students in pre-kindergarten through 12th grade, the performance supports lessons in geography, art, music, dance, Spanish, and Indigenous traditions while encouraging cross-cultural understanding. The experience combines heartfelt family traditions with lively theatrical presentation and is intended for audiences of all ages.
