FROM PAGE TO SCREEN TO STAGE - FOIA and Public Records Research as Documentary & Historical Practice

This hands-on workshop examines how government records obtained through Freedom of Information laws can move across documentary, journalistic, historical, and theatrical forms. Participants will explore how investigative research and archival evidence can be presented in writing, interpreted visually for film, and adapted for live performance, while considering how each medium shapes the way audiences understand public records.

The workshop focuses on transforming state documents into accessible public knowledge without compromising their evidentiary value. It is presented in partnership with Free Fall Baltimore and Create Baltimore.
