You But Funnier: A Masterclass with Beth Lapides

Fri, Oct 23, 2026at 5:00 PM
3134 Eastern Ave., Baltimore, MD
$40-$45
Featuring: Beth Lapides

You But Funnier is an experiential comedy and storytelling masterclass led by Beth Lapides, creator of *UnCabaret* and a pioneer of alternative comedy. The workshop is designed to help participants uncover an authentic comedic voice, find the compelling and complicated truths in their own experiences, and shape those stories into material that connects with an audience.

Rather than relying on formulaic joke writing, the class emphasizes presence, storytelling, personal perspective, risk-taking, and real-time discovery. Participants may work through exercises that unlock personal stories, develop those stories into engaging material, reinterpret mistakes and everyday experiences as creative material, and receive coaching and feedback. The workshop is intended for writers, performers, creators, public-facing professionals, leaders, and anyone interested in storytelling, self-expression, and finding a stronger voice.
