Ami Taf Ra & Kamasi Washington

Ami Taf Ra and Kamasi Washington bring their ongoing creative collaboration to Keystone Korner Baltimore for a special tour stop celebrating Taf Ra’s debut album, *The Prophet and the Madman*. The program, billed as “The Profit & The Madman,” combines Taf Ra’s North African and Los Angeles influences with Washington’s acclaimed work as a saxophonist, composer, and producer.

Taf Ra’s music draws on the spiritual-jazz and avant-garde traditions associated with artists such as Alice Coltrane and Sun Ra, with a sound described as both jazz- and soul-oriented. Washington joins her for an evening focused on their shared creative partnership and the album-release program.
