Black Frequency Sound Library: Analog → Digital
Black Frequency Sound Library: Analog → Digital is a hands-on workshop led by DJ and archivist Xavier “Seven” Walker. Participants can bring a favorite CD or vinyl record, or select a recording from the event’s library, and learn how to convert analog sound and media files into digital formats. The program combines digitization with music and communal listening.
Walker is a multimedia DJ, archivist, and cultural organizer whose work explores Black Diasporic traditions, intimacy, movement, and overlooked narratives of hidden spaces. He created [THE FUNCTION] and the Black Frequency Archive and collaborates with Perfect Memory Radio. He has performed throughout the Northeast, was one of the Black Arts District’s 2025 Emerging Artist Fellows, and was named Baltimore Beat’s Favorite Up-and-Coming DJ of 2025. His work is grounded in Sankofa and the role of memory, gathering, and connection in strengthening individual and community self-determination.
