Rodrigo Nunes presents "Anatomy of Disintegration: What Brazil Reveals About the Global Far Right" in conversation w/ Mike McGuire

Rodrigo Nunes presents *Anatomy of Disintegration: What Brazil Reveals About the Global Far Right* in conversation with Mike McGuire. Using Jair Bolsonaro’s rise, defeat, and continuing political impact in Brazil as a starting point, Nunes examines why far-right movements are gaining ground internationally, including in the United States, Argentina, and India.

Nunes connects the far right’s appeal to the social disintegration produced by the crisis of neoliberalism and intensified by looming climate change. He considers the movement’s social base, its material and emotional foundations, and the mainstream political response, arguing that the contemporary far right seeks not simply to resist these destabilizing forces but to harness and accelerate them. Nunes is a senior lecturer and associate professor in Political Theory and Organisation at the University of Essex, and the author of *Neither Vertical Nor Horizontal: A Theory of Political Organisation* and *Organisation of the Organisationless: Collective Action after Networks*.
