Building the People's Network: Meshtastic 101 and Companion Node Build Party

This hands-on workshop introduces participants to Meshtastic, a decentralized messaging system that uses open-source LoRa radio technology rather than cellular service. Attendees will build Black Flag Civilian’s People’s Companion node, a pocket-sized open-source radio, with guided soldering instruction before learning how to send encrypted messages without a carrier, phone number, or monthly fee.

The workshop welcomes beginners and encourages participants to bring a smartphone. Limited building kits will be available through donation, with solidarity-pricing options; advance kit purchases are also encouraged.
