Featuring: Ron White

Ron White, widely known by his nickname “Tater Salad,” brings his acclaimed storytelling comedy to the Modell Performing Arts Center at the Lyric. His material draws on his Texas upbringing, everyday observations, and decades of life in entertainment.

White began performing in 1986, opening for comedians including Sam Kinison and Jeff Foxworthy before becoming a headliner. In 2000, he joined Jeff Foxworthy, Bill Engvall, and Larry the Cable Guy for the Blue Collar Comedy Tour, which traveled to 270 cities over more than three years and generated over $35 million in ticket sales. The tour later became the film *Blue Collar Comedy Tour: The Movie*, described on the page as Comedy Central’s most-watched comedy film.

His albums *Drunk In Public*, *They Call Me Tater Salad*, and *You Can’t Fix Stupid* helped establish his national profile. All four of his comedy albums reached No. 1 on the Billboard Comedy Charts, and *You Can’t Fix Stupid* earned Grammy recognition. White also wrote the New York Times bestselling memoir *Ron “Tater Salad” White: I Had the Right to Remain Silent…But I Didn’t Have the Ability*.

Beyond stand-up, White has appeared in *Horrible Bosses*, *Sex and the City 2*, and *Jayne Mansfield’s Car*. He served as a co-executive producer on the documentary *Bridegroom* and appeared in Cameron Crowe’s Showtime series *Roadies*. He has also supported U.S. military personnel for more than two decades through his annual Ron White’s Comedy Salute to the Troops, which benefits the Armed Forces Foundation.
