Virtual Artist Talk with Clarissa Pezone
Virtual Artist Talk with Clarissa Pezone is part of Baltimore Clayworks’ Artist Talk series, offering an online presentation about the artist and her creative practice. The program highlights the role of ceramic artists in Baltimore Clayworks’ mission and explores the work Pezone creates across sculpture and installation.
Clarissa Pezone is a Baltimore-based sculptor whose studio practice combines clay, textiles, paint, and other mixed media. Influenced by mythology, the uncanny, and lore, she investigates themes that occupy the space between reality and the unknown. Born in Sacramento, California, Pezone earned a bachelor’s degree from Humboldt State University in 2013 and an MFA from Indiana University Bloomington in 2021. Her work has been presented in solo and group exhibitions in the United States and internationally, including at the Indianapolis Art Center, C.R.E.T.A Rome, and the Museum of Contemporary Art, Arlington. She is identified as a 2026 TNNUA Artist Exchange artist.
