French Favorites

French Favorites presents the Baltimore Chamber Orchestra in a program centered on the refined, inventive character of French musical culture. Robert Moody conducts, with pianist Bryan Wallick joining the orchestra for Chopin’s Piano Concerto No. 2. The concert opens with Ravel’s colorful tribute to French Baroque music and concludes with Bizet’s energetic First Symphony, written when the composer was only 17.

The program includes Ravel’s graceful *Le Tombeau de Couperin*, Chopin’s virtuosic and lyrical Piano Concerto No. 2 in F Minor, and Bizet’s Symphony No. 1 in C Major. The orchestra’s performance of Bizet’s youthful work follows intermission.
