Danny Jonukuchi & the Revisionists Live for Friday Night Swing & Lindy
Danny Jonokuchi and the Revisionists, a New York City swing band celebrated for its joyful, dance-focused sound, headline this Friday Night Swing and Lindy event at Mobtown Ballroom. The evening combines live jazz, social dancing, and a drop-in beginner lesson, with an expanded band lineup and music continuing late into the night.
The band has been described as “today’s premier swing band” by Broadway World, with DownBeat praising its “smile-inducing” music and Syncopated Times noting its crisp, clean, joyful style. Their 2022 album, *Together Again*, followed a headlining appearance at Lincoln Center’s Summer for the City Festival. In 2020, they unanimously won the inaugural Count Basie Great American Swing Contest for their virtual performance of “One O’Clock Jump.” The award-winning recording also appears on *Late Night Basie*, a tribute album featuring an acclaimed roster of artists. The group has performed with special guests including Grammy Award-winning vocalist Catherine Russell.
