Teresita's Dream: Cuba's Battle Against Alzheimer's - Followed by Panel Discussion
Teresita’s Dream tells the personal and politically complicated story of Cuban scientist Teresita Rodríguez, who begins searching for an Alzheimer’s treatment after her mother receives a diagnosis. Working with a predominantly female team of scientists, Teresita’s effort to help her mother develops into research that could transform the treatment of the disease.
The screening is followed by the short film *U.S. Citizens in Cuba for New Breakthrough Alzheimer’s Treatment* and a panel discussion. The short film examines U.S. patients traveling to Havana for Cuba’s NeuralCIM treatment, which studies indicate can stabilize Alzheimer’s symptoms and, in many cases, reverse some effects of the disease. It includes the experience of Colorado physician Dr. Bill Blanchet, who accompanies patients to Cuba and describes significant improvements after six months of treatment.
