Fiber Options
Fiber Options is a juried exhibition at the Maryland Federation of Art’s Circle Gallery featuring original two- and three-dimensional works that use textiles, fabric, and fiber techniques as artistic media. The exhibition explores fiber’s long history as a vehicle for storytelling and cultural tradition, while also highlighting contemporary approaches such as mixed media, recycling, and the repurposing of textile waste. Eligible work may incorporate natural or synthetic textiles, weaving, embroidery, sewing, appliqué, quilting, and related techniques; artwork that merely depicts fiber art in another medium is not eligible.
The exhibition is open to artists residing in the United States, its territories, Canada, or Mexico. Professional juror and artist educator Sydney Abady selected the work, and the juror’s awards total $1,000. The exhibition’s juror statement is scheduled to be published with the awards.
