I Shot Andy Warhol

Mary Harron’s film follows Valerie Solanas, an aggressively outspoken lesbian writer who approaches Andy Warhol in hopes that he will support her work, only to eventually make him the target of her anger. The film offers a view of Warhol’s 1960s Factory scene through Solanas’s perspective, with Lili Taylor delivering passages from Solanas’s anti-man manifesto directly to the audience.

Jared Harris plays Andy Warhol, while Stephen Dorff gives a standout performance as Warhol superstar Candy Darling. A trailer is available through the event page.
