The Dunham/McCarthy Quintet

The Dunham/McCarthy Quintet brings together vibraphonist Ben Dunham and bassist Aidan McCarthy as co-leaders of an adventurous jazz ensemble. Their lively improvisation honors the jazz tradition while pushing it forward, drawing on their work with artists including Aron!, Etienne Charles, Jazzmeia Horn, John Daversa, and Camille Thurman.

The quintet’s newest project, *Before We Go*, features original music that combines playful, mature voices with a respect for classic jazz. Recorded during the co-leaders’ final days living in Miami, the project reflects the joy of spontaneous music-making and the fellowship of creating with close friends and collaborators. Both leaders have received multiple DownBeat Magazine Awards, appeared at festivals such as Jazz Aspen Snowmass and the Clearwater Jazz Holiday, and performed internationally in North America, Asia, and Europe.
