Spread the Jam: November 2026

Spread the Jam is an open jam session designed to welcome musicians of every background and skill level. The gathering aims to foster an equitable, non-hierarchical, and nonjudgmental musical community centered on honest communication, connection, and creative liberation.

In addition to the jam, the event includes a community discussion and time to workshop original compositions. The session is led in part by Johanna McGuire, a Baltimore-based saxophonist who performs throughout the area and teaches at music camps including Hilton Head Jazz Camp in South Carolina and Anne Arundel North Bay music camp. She draws on her experience as both a performer and educator to help musicians develop their individual sound.
