The History of Concrete

The History of Concrete follows filmmaker John Wilson as he tries to turn an unlikely subject into a documentary. After completing a workshop on writing and selling Hallmark movies, Wilson attempts to apply its formula to a film about concrete, pursuing the material through New York construction sites, crumbling roads, public spaces, a massive industry convention, environmental concerns, and conversations with eccentric specialists. His investigation also leaves room for the many unexpected digressions that capture his attention.
