Isabella Weber presents *Anti-Fascist Economics: In Defense of Affordability, Dignity, and Democracy* in a conversation with Osita Nwanevu. Weber examines how inequality, inflation, corporate profiteering, and the affordability crisis can weaken democracy and create conditions for the resurgence of fascist politics. She argues for an economic model that prioritizes people’s needs, dignity, and access to essential goods rather than treating them as secondary to corporate profit.

Drawing on her book, Weber proposes an economics centered on livable conditions, essential production, accountability for corporate power, and international cooperation. She also revisits the work of mid-20th-century economists whose guiding principle was “never again,” adapting their ideas to the present political and economic moment.
