Miguel Braceli: Unburial
Miguel Braceli’s *Unburial* considers the absence of Annapolis’s Liberty Tree from the front lawn of St. John’s College as a starting point for learning, remembrance, and reflection. Working with community partners, Braceli transforms the space left by the tree into a site for celebrations that ask what freedom means today.
The exhibition is framed by the question, “Can you whisper to me / the last breath of a tree?” Its presentation includes documentation of *Here Lies A Flag*, a 2021 performance created with students from New Rochelle High School. The project is presented in collaboration with Annapolis Pride, Historic Annapolis, and the Maryland Commission on Indian Affairs.
